Mt. Kailash ( at 6714 mtr.) is believed to have been formed 30 million years ago when Himalayas were in their early stage of formation, is one of the most revered places in the Himalayas . Mt. Kailash , also known as Tise, Kailasa & Kang Rinpoche(Jewel of the Snows), Few mountains rival Holy Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar for its mystique. Isolation, beauty and prominence. It is considered to be the ‘Center of the Universe’ by Hindus, Buddhists, Jain and Bonpo and its flanks give birth to four great Asian rivers the Indus, Brahmaputra , Ganges and Sutlej . Tibetans believe that it is the residence of Demchog, a fierce looking tantric deity who lives there with his consort, Dorje Phagmo. For the Tibetans also, it is a particularly special place in that their poet saint Milarepa, spent several years here meditating in a cave.
Mount Kailash is famed as the Roof of the World, the Tibet Autonomous Region has fascinated by mankind. This mysterious land was forbidden not only by man but also by nature. An average elevation of 4,000 m. is bounded by the Kunlun Mountains to the north and the Himalayas to the south. People have been visiting Kailash – Mansarovar for centuries. Almost all the major passes of Himalayas lead to Kailash – Mansarovar.
LHASA
Tibet ‘s capital Lhasa (elevation 3,700 m) is a cultural city with a history going back 1,300 years. The magnificent Potala Palace , former seat of the Dalai Lamas, presides over the city. Built in 1645 on the top of a hill, the palace contains 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines and 200,000 religious statues. The old city revolves around the Jokhang Temple and the quaint Barkhor market that surrounds it. The Jhokhang, built in the seventh century, is the holiest Buddhist shrine in Tibet . Its mural paintings, finely worked golden roofs and other works of art are something to see. At a little distance from the old city core, Lhasa is also a modern capital of concrete high-rises, fancy department stores and wide boulevards.
Norbulingka consists of wooded greenery and three palaces once used by the Dalai Lamas as a summer retreat.
Arrival to Kathmandu afternoon Darshan of Pashupatinath and evening briefing of program overnight at Hotel.
Yatra Preparation and afternoon fly to Nepalgunj, overnight at Hotel.
Morning fly to Simikot (3000m) by fixed wing, Fly to Hilsa (3700m) by Helicopter then cross the boarder drive to purang (3800m) overnight at Hotel.
Purang full day acclimatization.
Drive to Lake Manasarovar (4500m.), Start Parikrama of Mansarovar- 105km and Holy Bath, Puja etc.
After Lunch we drive to Darchen.
Drive to Yam Dwar and Trek to Diraphuk.
Trek Dolma la Pass (5650m.) and over night at Zuthulphuk.
Trek 2hrs and Drive to Hilsa via Purang and fly to simikot by helicopter overnight at hotel
Fly to Nepalgunj – Kathmandu.
Drive to Airport and fly back to Home.
